WIND OF CHANGE
Example of my moving office space. Always on the floor, or standing up and of course surrounded by cats. You can also see the beautiful black fleece outfit that is part of my charm, haha.

Helou everyone,
How did your time awareness go? Any big revelations on what is consuming your most valuable thing in life, TIME! The trend seems to be aimless scrolling on the phone, I have had several people saying that it’s such an easy way to relax. As discussed few newsletters ago, scrolling phone is everything but rest. Your eyes are exposed to artificial light and your brain is whirring aimlessly and too fast. A lot of people, including myself, seem to get exhausted in autumn. After busy summer season, and getting back to work after holidays, people seem to go overboard with how much they can actually do. That combined with less day light and cold weather drives us to “rest” in ways that is far away from rest. This time of the year, is really important to set good habits for winter so you can survive the darkness the best possible way.
You have the info now, on what and where you use your time, now the question is what are you gonna do with this valuable info? Most of the time it’s not the knowledge that’s missing it’s the action. Every day you choose where your energy goes. Sure there are things that you need to get sorted whether you are excited about them or not, but the attitude of how you react is entirely up to you. You can choose to get things done and move on, or waste your energy to whinging and moaning about stuff. Things done is better than things perfect. Once you have awareness of your actions and you choose to shift your attitude, things will really start to happen.
Right, we have stated the obvious now, so it’s time to remind you all about active rest! The basics of life really are quite simple, natural light, fresh air, healthy food, movement and good sleep. Modern day life complicates all of these, so you need to find a way to navigate day to day life with out falling into wolf’s holes, another great Finnish saying for you. We spend way too much time indoors staring screens. All sorts of easy, quick and unhealthy food options are available right in front of our faces. Because life is too busy people sacrifice their time to other tasks instead of movement and exercise. When all the other blocks are twisted we won’t get a good sleep! One block at the time we end up in the vicious cycle that can be hard to jump out. Few easy steps to find your way out of the cycle:
1. If nothing else feels achievable Go Outside, just sit there doing nothing if you don’t have the energy to move. Way more restorative than anything else. Do this first thing in the morning and last thing at night.
2. Close the screens! Earlier the better. When it’s dark outside you should not be exposed to light, including bright lights in your house, it’s against your natural circadian rhythm and can mess up a lot of functions in your body.
3. Eat breakfast and plan the rest of your meals in the morning when you are not tired or hungry. This will result into a hell of lot more consistent energy during the day and helps you avoid bad options.
4. MOVE! Move as much and as often as you can. The longer we are stagnant to more effort it will take to undo the damage. This does not mean you need to run like a headless chicken all day long, quite the opposite. If you sit for long stand up and pump your arms. If you been bending over lifting stuff, stretch your back and walk. If you been rushing from place to place, stop and consciously breathe, just to give you few simple examples.
5. When you are tired, sleep! No scrolling, No TV, No alcohol or other excuses. Those of you who struggle to fall a sleep, even when you are exhausted, create a routine of darkness, stretches, reading etc. to help you calm down.
Put awareness on your actions, remember that’s the only route to change.
This is of course a really simplified list of action, but sometimes simple is the best! If you need more support you can always contact me and we can discuss what would be the best possible route for you. I will be heading a way to Finland next week, to the light and heat! Best way to get in touch with me is email, won’t be checking daily, but few times a week. I have few ideas in my mind how to help people more from distance as well but will share more once I get the ball rolling. Calendar is open for August 11th onwards, so go ahead and book in. Will miss you all and I promise I’ll bring the sunshine with me when I return.
While I am gone there are other great practitioners around to help you with body work, give me shout and I’ll give you recommendations that would best suit you. Also there’s a new sauna business starting in town, which I am super excited for! Sadly council didn’t give a permit for this so there’s a petition going so go a head and sign, and we can all sweat and be happy together. You can follow the process in instagram roaringmegfires.
I’m so proud of all the amazing people in Cromwell starting all sorts of health related businesses! It’s so amazing to have a network close by help us all to survive & master daily lives and heal.
Love
Kaisa❤️🐾
I got so many comments of my gorgeous hair last time that I thought to share some more beauty, haha. Picture 1. Get that morning sun on your face! Picture 2. When you are sauna fresh in the evening visiting friend’s house with bright lights, don’t forget protective eyewear and remember, style is everything!
